How It Began
A Grandmother's Needle
It started with a white kurta and a needle. Anahita's grandmother — a karigar herself — would sit by the window on summer afternoons and embroider mogra flowers in near-invisible white thread. The result was a fabric that looked plain until it caught the light, and then it bloomed.
When Anahita moved to Mumbai for work, she discovered that authentic chikankari was almost impossible to find — and when found, it was either overpriced or machine-made. The same was true for Banarasi silk: a craft built over centuries, slowly losing its market to synthetic imitations.
She went back to Lucknow. She walked into the old city, met the karigars, and made a deal: she would handle design and distribution, they would handle craft. That was the beginning of Styled by Anahita.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Authentic Craft
Every piece is hand-embroidered or hand-woven by artisans who have trained for decades. We never compromise on authenticity — no machine embroidery, no shortcuts.
Artisan First
Our karigars earn 3× the market rate. We provide health coverage, fair working hours, and skill development programs — because great craft needs great people.
Slow Fashion
We produce in small batches. Every piece is made to order or held in limited stock — no overproduction, no waste, no fast-fashion cycles.
Certified Handloom
All our Banarasi silk is GI-tagged and handloom certified. Our chikankari carries the Lucknow Geographical Indication mark. You can buy with full confidence.
